The Golden ghoose

Long ago there lived a woodcutter named ramu in Raipur village along with his wife Meena and three children’s. He daily sells the wood and feeds his family. His daily routine is to go to forest and cut wood and sell it in the market and earn money. He has a pet cat that goes along with him.

One day he had collected the wood from the forest and went to the market to sell it near the wood shop. He gave only 60 Rs for the wood he collected.  He came home and gives his wife the earned money

His wife says, dear I can’t run the home with the money you give me daily. I only don’t know how I am managing the home with this money. But now it is not at all possible

You have to search for some other livelihood. You will be away from home from morning till evening you don’t know how many problems I am facing with shop keeper, milkman etc

Yes dear, I understand your problem. I will try to make our lives better

The very next day he goes to the forest to cut more wood along with his pet he sees that government had banned cutting the trees in the forest.

Then he sadly comes home and says his wife about this. He tries very hard here and there for a job but no one gives him any job even in a brick clin.

Daily he use to sell the household things one by one for feeding his children’s and a day came where nothing was left to sell and feed the family. He sadly goes into the forest there he finds a ghoose and he caught it and thinks that at least today I can feed my family with ghoose meat. When he catches the ghoose in his hand and started moving towards his home he suddenly hears a noise. Then he looks around. Once again he hears a noise and looks around and come to know that ghoose is speaking.

The ghoose says, Oh! Dear friend please don’t kill me, I am a magical ghoose, I will give you a golden egg everyday and you can sell it in the market and earn money.

Ramu says, alright you can stay along with me in my hut

And then reaches home and handover the ghoose to his wife. His wife thinks that he gave something to cook and thought of cooking.

Then her husband says this is a magical ghoose that lays a golden egg per day.

Then her wife replies, what ridiculous are you speaking? Here we are starving for food and you are saying that this lays a golden egg. Oh! God what can I tell him

Then his husband says, Ok my dear let’s see till tomorrow morning if it doesn’t lay any egg then we will have it for our lunch. Then his wife accepts for it.

The very next day they found a golden egg laid by the ghoose they both feels very happy. Then her husband immediately goes to the market and sell the egg and makes money. His daily duty is to go to market and sell the eggs. Within no time Ramu became very rich.  He was very kind towards the ghoose and fed it with good food and one day here wife feels greedy and says, dear husband I want to build a house bigger than the zamindars

For this her husband replies, to build such a big house we have to wait for long time because the ghoose only lays an egg per day so it takes long time for that to build such as big house.

For this the wife says, I can’t wait for such a long time? What if we kill the ghoose and remove all the golden eggs in its stomach

Husband says, yes its sounds good. Why this idea didn’t strike me. Any ways let’s go and kill that ghoose and remove all golden eggs hidden inside its stomach

They both rushes near the ghoose and kill it, but they don’t find any eggs in its stomach. They felt sorry for their foolishness.

If you bit the hands that feeds you then you have to suffer. Greed with ruin everyone so,be happy with whatever you have don’t go greedy.
