Grandfather’s agony

Once there lived a rich merchant in a village krishnapur along with his son Ramu. His wife died after giving birth to the child. He became father and mother to his son and started looking after him with love and care. He gave him good education and got him married to a beautiful girl named Meena. With the coming of his daughter-in-law the entire situation in the home was changed. She doesn’t like his father-in-law to stay along with them. She always wanted to get the property into their name.

One day Meena says, my dear why don’t you get the property into your name?
For this her husband replies, Anyway the entire property will be ours after my father death since I am the only son to him so don’t bother about that.

But his wife (Meena) didn’t leave the topic she started pressing his husband day and night to ask his father about the property. By this Ramu got irritated and one day he directly went near his father and said, father it might be difficult to manage the property for you so hand over the property to me I will take care of it.

By listening to these words his father understood the entire situation and calmly handed over the papers related to the property to his son and the keys to his daughter-in-law.
Few months later Meena became pregnant. She felt that the old man was coughing and sneezing all the time and so he couldn’t occupy the front name

And said his husband, Oh! Dear I am soon going to give birth to the child, it’s unhygienic to keep your father in this house and moreover we need the front room so why don’t you shift your father to servant’s quarters which are empty.

The young man loved his wife so much that he considered her advice and thought of shifting his father to servant’s quarters and said his father as, father why don’t you move to the quarters which are behind our home?

The father replied as, as your wish son

The father without saying anything he calmly shifted his bed to servants quarter and his daughter-in-law started serving food there itself in an old plate late afternoon after they lunch.

One precious morning, she gave birth to baby boy and named him as Rohan. He grew up and became five years old. He was smart, intelligent and loving child, his parents, grandfather, friends, teachers love him very much. He spends most of his time with his grandfather by listening to stories and jokes said by him. They both had great time with each other.

He was distributed with his mother behavior towards his grandfather. One day when his father and mother was searching for something in the kitchen for long time after their lunch he silently came to them and asked about what they are searching for?

For this, his father replied, we are searching for the old plate of your grandfather. We are unable to find it.

Do you have seen it anywhere?

Yes father, replied the son.

Go fast and get the plate it’s already late we have to serve food for your grandfather.
So the son says No, I have preserved it safely with my toys for future. I need this plate to serve food for you when you become old

By hearing these words his parents were speechless and felt ashamed of themselves for their behavior towards the old man.

The little boy parents immediately rushed near the old man to say sorry for their rude behavior towards him and called him back to stay along with them.

The old man accepted their invitation and went to stay with his son’s family. From that day since, they started looking out with great care, respect and affection towards the old man

When you respect your parents you will be respected too. Whatever you will do to others you will get back the same.
