Ramayana stories - Loyalty

After promising his loving wife kaikeyi dasaratha had sent his son Rama to forest. Rama was accompanied by his loving wife Sita and laksmana his brother. One fine day, when Rama and lakshama sat near their home named” Parnashala” the demonic women soorpanaka came near Rama and asked him to marry her. Rama refused to marry her and sent her near Lakshmana and he also refused to marry her. As a result, she showed her demonism and attacked Lakshmana. Then he had cut her nose and ears.

Soon she rushed to his brother Ravana, the king of Lanka and said about sita and her beauty and told his brother to marry sita. Then ravana wants to take revenge against Rama and lakshmana for harming his sister and to acquire sita. As, he came to know that sita likes deer’s very much. Taking this as an advantage he took the help of his uncle mareecha and asked him to masquerade as deer. Marreecha turns out as a golden deer and attracted sita. Seeing this he asks Rama to bring and give the golden deer for her. Rama agrees to bring it to fulfill her wish. Then he goes back of the golden deer and tried to catch it and bring it for sita. After sometime, Sita and lakshama hears a voice of Rama calling “hey Sita, hey Lakshama”. Hearing this sita immediately asks lakshama to go and help his brother. Then lakshama says that his brother Rama is very strong and powerful nothing will happen to him this is the trick played by someone else.

Hearing these words sita says, you have some wrong opinion on me that why you are not going to rescue your brother. If you won’t rescue your brother I will die by throwing herself in fire.
By hearing these words Lakshmana immediately rushes to help out his brother.

From this lesson we have learnt to follow the instruction given by elders even in the presence or absence of them. Here, as said by his brother Rama, lakshamana tried to save sita even in his absence. At the same time he followed the words of his sister in law sita.
